Day 1: Arrival to Lima

You will be picked up at the airport by our representative and taken to your selected hotel in Lima to rest before start your legendary adventure in our amazing country.

Day 2:  Lima City Tour

Be prepared to explore Peru’s capital, also known as “the City of Kings”. You’ll see classic historical sights, colonial and Pre-Inca architecture, residential neighborhoods, beautiful shrines and churches and incredible panoramic seascapes.

Departing from your hotel, you’ll head to Lima’s Historical Center, the old side of the city and the capital of the Peruvian viceroyalty. Stop at the “Love Park” (Parque del amor) where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Lima Bay.

Next, you’ll head over to the residential district of San Isidro where you’ll be able to visit the “Huaca Pucllana” and “Huaca Huallamarca”, two famous Pre-Inca ceremonial centers.

Then we will take you to Plaza Mayor, the heart of colonial Lima. The plaza is enclosed by gorgeous colonial buildings, the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Municipal Palace. Specially enjoy a view of the Presidential and Municipal Palaces, two immense buildings whose grandeur is sure to capture your fascination.

Now it is time to visit the Lima Cathedral and visit the tomb of the Spanish Conqueror Francisco Pizarro. After, you’ll visit the San Francisco Monastery, home to the large underground catacombs said to connect the monastery with nearby churches.

Finally we will go to the traditional district of Pueblo Libre, where the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology will open its doors for us and will provide us very important information of the most representative cultures that inhabited the ancient Peru.

Next, we will continue with a Peruvian pisco tasting and a delicious Peruvian style lunch. Rest of the day free to explore the city on your own.

Overnight in Lima.

Day 3: Arrival to Paracas and Nazca Lines Tour

Take a luxury bus from Lima to Paracas, where you will be greeted and taken on a private transfer to your selected hotel.

Once you have had a chance to relax and enjoy the fine accommodations of your hotel, you will be privately transported to the Pisco airport to begin your exciting tour of the Nazca Lines. Fly over the Nazca lines for a stunning view of the enormous figures in the sand.

These lines, which were scratched on the surface of the ground between 500 B.C. and A.D. 500, are among archaeology’s greatest enigmas because of their quantity, nature, size and continuity. The geoglyphs depict living creatures, stylized plants and imaginary beings, as well as geometric figures several kilometers long. They are believed to have had ritual astronomical functions. After the hour long flight, you will be escorted back to your hotel to enjoy the beach and spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 4: Ballestas Islands Tour & Return to Lima

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken on a private transfer to the magnificent Paracas Bay where you will find a boat waiting to take you to the nearby Ballestas Islands. Sea lions, seals, penguins, turtles, and guano birds may all be spotted as you sail away from the coast. You will also be able to see the mysterious Candelabra, a 50 meter long sketching in the hills of the mainland thought to be connected to the Nazca Lines.

After your boating excursion, you may wish to have lunch in the Oasis town of Huacachina before you are transported to the bus station to continue on your Legendary Peru vacation by returning to Lima.

Day 5: Arrival to Arequipa & City Tour

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, you will be privately transported to the airport for your flight to Arequipa.

Upon arrival, you will be collected by our Representative at the Arequipa airport and taken in a private transfer to your selected hotel in Arequipa where you will be able to rest and take some time to acclimatize to the altitude.

Once fully rested, in the afternoon, you will be met by a P&P Tours Tour Guide who will take you on a private tour of the main attractions of this expanding city.

The historic center of Arequipa, known as the White City, is truly magical; perhaps most impressive due to its unique combination of ornate colonial style buildings made of sillar, a white local volcanic lava rock, and a unique cultural and architectural integration of both European and native characteristics.

During your tour, your guide will show you the most fascinating sites in Arequipa, from the mummy of a young girl who was found frozen at the top of a volcano 500 years after her death to key art and architecture from the colonial era, where you will see some of the famous casas or mansions, many of which are intricately decorated with Baroque façades.

You will also visit the fascinating Santa Catalina Convent. Climb the stairs to the roof deck of the monastery where you will find an incredible panorama of the cityscape with the backdrop of El Misti, the snow-capped volcano that overlooks the city.

The tour concludes at the main square of Yanahuara where you will enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the city and Misti volcano.

Spend the evening at your leisure in Arequipa, exploring its lovely streets and tasting the exquisite Ariquipeñan gastronomy, celebrated throughout the country.

Day 6: Colca Canyon Tour

After an early breakfast, your private guide will collect you at your hotel for the scenic drive to the Colca Canyon. The journey will allow you to catch your first glimpse of the wild and serene beauty that makes this area so spectacular.

Along the way we will stop at Pampa Cañahuas – home to llamas and other South American camelids – and the volcano overlook of Patapampa – a vista of the snow-capped Andes and the principal volcanoes outside of Arequipa.

From this unusual scenery you will begin the steady decline to the valley below, enjoying views of pre-Inca agricultural terraces before reaching the town of Chivay. Once you arrive to your hotel, you will have the afternoon free to relax in the natural hot springs and rest at your hotel enjoying of this picturesque scenery.

Day 7: Colca Canyon Tour & Arrival to Puno

Your guide will greet you after breakfast and take you to Mirador Cruz del Condor, one of the best viewpoints of this deep canyon and home to the famed condors that gracefully soar in the wind currents. The road leads past picturesque villages and pre-Inca ruins dominated by the glaciers Ampato and Hualca visible in the distance. On clear days you may even see smoke billowing from the active volcano Sabancaya. Once you reach Cruz del Condor, you can stand at the viewpoint and gaze into the canyon’s depths, stretching nearly 4,000 ft below.

After further exploration of the Colca Canyon area, you will return to Chivay for a delicious lunch before taking a private transfer to Puno.

In the afternoon, a private car will take you to Puno – a five hour journey through incredibly picturesque countryside where an astonishing variety of potatoes are cultivated.

Your P&P Tours Puno host will check you into your hotel upon arrival.

Puno is at a higher altitude than Cusco so take some time to rest and get acclimatized. Enjoy the evening at your leisure, resting at your hotel or exploring the area around your selected hotel in Puno, and eating in one of the nearby restaurants.

Day 8: Lake Titicaca Tour – Floating Islands of the Uros & Taquile Island

After breakfast you will head out on a full day private tour of Lake Titicaca. This incredible mass of deep blue and green water is the highest navigable lake in the world and is situated at 3,890 meters (12, 379 ft) above sea level. The lake is host to an abundance of wildlife such as flamingos, ducks and many rare species of fish.

During your tour you will visit some of the Islands of Uros. There are an estimated 32 populated islands– some friendly to tourists while others are more isolated. The islands themselves are constructed from many layers of ‘totora’ reeds, an ancient process continued today. They float around Lake Titicaca and are truly a wonder to view. On some of the islands you will be given the chance to pick up some traditional local handicrafts.

You will continue on toward the Island of Taquile which is located about 45km from Puno and is full of numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins. The local islanders still maintain many ancient traditions with their clothing and beautiful handicrafts. Interestingly, on this island it is the men and not the women that have historically woven material. You will be guided around the island to all of the most important sites, such as a museum of traditional costumes, and the ruins at the highest point of the island where you might catch an incredible sunset.

You will then return to Puno by boat and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9:  Leaving Puno &  Arrival to Cusco

After breakfast at your hotel in Puno a Sightseeing Tour by Bus from Puno to Cusco. You will embark on a guided bus tour that will take you from Puno to Cusco.

Along the way, you’ll stop at the key points of interest that do this breathtaking route. The first will be a visit to a pre-Inca site at Pukara followed by La Raya – the highest point on your route. Surrounded by glorious snow-covered mountains and buffeted by chilly winds, you’ll marvel at the artisans who offer their wares at the roadside market.

After an enjoyable lunch en route, your next stop will be at the Inca outpost of Raqchi. Raqchi is an Inca archaeological site in the Cusco region in Peru also known as the Temple of Wiracocha, one of its constituents, The complex of Raqchi consists of several different areas each designated with a specific function.The final stop will be the church in the tiny town of Andahuaylilllas. Adorned with beautiful frescoes, gold leaf and incredible wood sculpture, this church is considered the “Sistine chapel of the Americas.”

We will meet you as you exit the bus in Cusco and bring you to your hotel, where you’ll be able to take a hot shower and rest for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 10: The fascinating Sacred Valley of the Incas

Ccochahuasi/ Pisac Archaeological Site and Handicraft Market

After an early breakfast at your hotel, your P&P Tours Cusco Tour Guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel and together you will embark on a journey into the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas. As you wind through the Andean mountain tops, you will see echoes of the traditional lifestyles that have remained unchanged for more than 500 years. Many people proudly wear traditional clothing, cook in clay fire ovens and utilize many of the irrigation techniques developed over half a millennia ago. The drive from Cusco is not very long and on the way you will see some typical Andean villages and scenery.

The first place of our visit will be Ccochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, dedicated to the protection and care of the animals in the Andes of Peru.

Upon descent into the Sacred Valley you will appreciate the beautiful Inca fertile soils and advanced agricultural methods, and immediately you will understand why Incas considered this valley to be a sacred place.

After some minutes and always escorted by the gorgeous panorama you will arrive to the town of Pisac that also has some very interesting small architectural elements which make this town a gem of the Sacred Valley..

You will first stroll through the Archaeological Park, taking the tremendous views of the agricultural terracing that wraps around the mountain and the valley below.

After you will have the opportunity to visit the lively local market, the largest in the area, and enjoy the beautiful handmade textiles, ceramics, silver jewelry and crafts.

Then you will enjoy lunch at one of the most prestigious restaurants at the Sacred Valley and finally you will go to your selected hotel.

Day 11: Still enjoying of the fascinating Land of the Incas

Moray Agricultural Terraces / Maras Salt Mines / Chinchero

Your personal guide and driver will start your day with a visit to Moray – Inca terraces shaped like an amphitheater that may have been an experimental agricultural station; you will continue to Maras, a small town renowned for its colonial doorways.

Then, you will descend an ancient path to the salt mines that have been in continuous use since pre-Incan times. They are truly unique.

You will have lunch at a cozy restaurant at Chinchero and after a delicious lunch you will then visit a Traditional Textile Center, where women of this village still practice traditional, Incan weaving techniques – some of the oldest in the Americas – and the more than 50 unique designs produced here have spread throughout the region.

Return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 12: Machu Picchu

Private Tour of Machu Picchu

After breakfast, you will have an early morning departure to the train station for the ride to Aguas Calientes, and then a private guided tour of the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu. After a complete overview of the site with your guide, you will enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge and then have the remainder of the day to further explore the site at your leisure.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 13: Return from Machupicchu to Cusco & Ollantaytambo

After breakfast, you together with your Tour Guide will board the train back to Ollantaytambo Train Station, arriving there our driver will be waiting for you to bring you back to Cusco, but before your Tour Guide will show you one of the most impressive places in the Sacred Valley, the Archaeological Park of Ollantaytambo.

After the visit will go back to Cusco.

You will have the afternoon free to explore the city at your leisure.

Overnight al Cusco.

Day 14: City tour in Cusco & Flight back to Lima & Home

After breakfast, your Tour Guide will meet you to do your last tour in Peru, a private tour of one of Peru’s most attractive, fascinating cities: Cusco.

We will visit the amazing Archaeological Site of Saqsayhuaman, then we will go to Qoricancha the Inca religious Center of Cusco.

Next, we will visit the Machupicchu Museum, where Inca artifacts found by Hiram Bingham at Machupicchu are exhibited.

Finally we will visit the basilica Cathedral of Cusco, considered as one of the most important colonial buildings in South America.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in a very good restaurant in the city.

At the appropriate time your Tour Guide and driver will escort to you to Cusco Airport for your afternoon flight to Lima.

Upon arriving to Lima our Representative will be waiting for you.

You will have a car at your disposal in case you would like to explore more of Peru’s capital.

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred back to Jorge Chavez Airport for your international flight home.
